Savoury Macarons


We went to a mini cheese and wine festival behind the Southbank on the Thames. Wine and cheese tend to make me very happy but then we discovered a stall that combined my love of cheese with my love of macaroons! Cafe On take french cuisine and gives it an asian twist, they created savoury macaroons with flavours such as tomato, fennel and various spices. You choose your favourite cheese, I went for a strong blue cheese and they pair it with two different flavoured macaroons (spinach and black pepper) to create a sandwich. I didn't think it would work but I just had to try it. It was amazing, the chewy texture of the macaroon complimented the creamy cheese perfectly.
